We're releasing a slew of original art into the Etsy wilderness this morning. I don't even have time to type a decent message because I want to get these babies off of one computer window and into a different computer window. The future is happening 18" in front of me!

She also helped us consume the largest platter of Ethiopian food known to human kind!!

Wow, we actually did it. These new limited edition background pattern squirrels finish up our week of new releases:
We plan to start releasing a series of "Old Favorites, New Backgrounds" in limited edition form. The squirrels have been so good to us, they deserved to kick off the series and get a bit of a freshen up. These are each in editions of 25 at 5x7". The Mr. is here and the Ms. is here.
I went to go photograph them in the wild but unfortunately our yard is sorely lacking in large oak trees so we're just going to assume these squirrels prefer to live among the grasses.
We're putting the finishing touches on one other new release project so stay tuned...If it works, we think it'll be a good one.
Today is moving along way too quickly but I am determined to keep the week of posting new things alive. This time we bring you a customizable button pack:
We've been feeling bad that lots of our newer animals hadn't made it to pin form for portable clothing status and now things are looking a lot brighter. Just pick your favorite four and we'll ship them in this adorable stamped rabbit envelope. I'm usually not one to say our own things are adorable, but I just happen to love these tiny little envelopes.

Comedy and Tragedy: Day four of our new releases presents the extremes of dramatic genre in a manner that rivals Shakespeare. In fact, I'm fairly certain I read that Shakespeare wanted to use goats and hippos in King Lear but his buddy talked him out of it at the last minute.
These are the last two prints we'll release from Ryan's "Oddwood Garden" series.

Both are 11x14" and are limited to a run of 20 on the beautiful Hahnemuhle bamboo warm-tone paper. I'll let you decide which is the comedy and which is the tragedy.

I had planned to make a hilarious little how-to video for these guys but I can't find our point and shoot camera that can do video and I can't find the cord to charge the battery of my video camera. Other items I can't find lately: my big camera charger, clean clothes, my left red shoe, parts of my sanity, my glasses case, etc. So, you'll just have to settle for the instructive 1-2 punch of still photos:
I guess that was actually a 1-2-3 punch. Also, yes, I did notice that the words "Twist Off" feature prominently on the lid. It's still more fun to use the jaws of a T-Rex.
We are starting out with five of the animals and we'll expand when we think of some more ways to say "Cheers". Until then, let's all raise our glasses:

Forty-nine years ago today, dogs ruled outer space.
August 19, 1960 was the day that Strelka and her pal Belka launched into orbit courtesy of the Russian space program. The next day, they parachuted back to earth and became the first living creatures to survive space orbit. Or, as Wikipedia puts it, "They were the first Earth-born creatures to go into orbit and return alive.". I like how they include the caveat "Earth-born" so as not to offend any extra terrestrial cultures keeping tabs of our virtual encyclopedias.
Glen Dresser wrote a lovely essay in the last issue of Uppercase Magazine in which he documents and reflects on the use of dogs as space tourists. As you may recall, Ryan illustrated the article. Now we're really happy that we can offer prints of Ms. Strelka on the anniversary of her journey.
